The purpose of the Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival is to promote Clearwater Beach and Pinellas County as a prime tourism destination. The festival strives to enhance the guest experience by encouraging longer stays while providing visitors and residents with additional evening entertainment options following their days spent enjoying the beach.

The Sunsets of Pier 60 Daily Festival made its debut on March 17, 1995 and is a 501C-3 not for profit organization. The Festival originally ran from Thursday evening through Monday evening until June 1998 when it expanded to seven nights a week.

Located just south of Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, 1,000 tons of Clearwater Beachs world famous sugar sands will be creatively carved into the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit, an artistic walk-through display in a 21,000-square-foot tent. The ten-day festival will also include a variety of free activities on Clearwater Beach including a professional sand sculpting competition, sand sculpting clinics, speed sand demonstrations, a childrens play area, extended Sunsets at Pier 60 hours, and entertainment.
