The annual Great Southern Tailgate Classic highlights the spirit and fanfare of American football. Held August 21-22, 2015 on Amelia Island, Florida, the event will kick off the start of the football season and celebrate the art of tailgating in a scenic beach setting.

The event will highlight the collegiate team spirit of those who enjoy the game through the Southern Schools Tailgate Challenge. Teams can represent their school to be judged on the originality and quality of tailgating food selections, beverage choices, tailgate dcor, team spirit and more. Team mascots are invited to strut their stuff in a mascot competition and school "celebrities" can help their Tailgate Teams win the ultimate Southern Schools Tailgate Challenge.

To get fans pumped up, the event will begin Friday evening in pep-rally style with entertainment provided by great musicians while the tailgate competition and football fan programing will be played on Saturday. A background of music from the best of local musicians will accompany the event on Saturday as well as food vendors offering traditional tailgating fare, vendors selling team spirit products and tailgating essentials, a Kid's Zone with a variety of activities, craft beer tasting, VIP lounge, and much more! Fans will learn how to "elevate your tailgate" before the much anticipated football season begins at the annual Great Southern Tailgate Classic on Amelia Island!
