| Description: | January 27, 28, 29, 2012: The Fifth Annual Sarasota Indian Festival takes place at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd, from 9-5 Friday, 10-6, Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday. Experience the traditions and culture of the Native American people. Find hand made, one of a kind fine arts and crafts, paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, bead work and leather work, along with Native American food. Rick Bird and the Bird Choppers from Cherokee, NC will be performing traditional Native American drumming, singing and various styles of dance throughout the weekend. Little Big Mountain will be displaying his encampment. Award winning flutist Douglas Blue Feather is the guest entertainer. Guest story teller is James Hansen.
