Description: Openings are still available for boys and girls, ages 8 -12 years, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum for July 15 -18, 2008, 9AM to 12:30PM. Its a blast! Youngsters will experience the history and diversity of the unique culture of the Anthracite Region through stories, crafts, food, music and hands-on. Activities will simulate blasting coal from the earth and floating it to market. Participants will meet anthracite people from the past, pose for portraits in 19th century style clothing and tour the Lackawanna Coal Mine with their new friends.
